Dh and I recently celebrated our 10th Anniversary in Savannah, GA. Although it rained all weekend, it stopped here and there long enough for us to enjoy the city.
What a charming place! So much beautiful architecture and history....everything from Civil War stories, graves under the city, the Underground Railroad to hauntings. It's fascinating and we got to take it all in.
We stayed at a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, The 1895 Inn! The best hosts and the best breakfasts! The first day we had Peach French Toast, what an absolute delight. Day 2 was Artichoke and Turkey Pie (Quiche), scrumptious. It was nice to have dishes we had never tried before. I am getting the recipe for both! LOL! If you ever visit Savannah I highly recommend the 1895 Inn. The hosts will take good care of you, including any reservations, tour tickets, a nightly wine and cheese for socializing and dessert after dinner time.
Also be sure to visit Savannah Scrapbooking for your scrapbook shopping! Great paper selection! Nice store. Well worth the visit.
Here are a few shots from the trip:
This is the Marshall House, one the stops on our Haunted Walking Tour. Guests have been reported to the ghost of not only a young girl but of soldiers and workers too! Spoooookyyyyy!
Dh on the riverwalk.
Us on the Riverwalk.
Savannah is abundant with these beautiful Spanish Moss trees...fabulous. The contrast of the very dark wood and the "dripping" moss is breathtaking!
This is me at dinner at Vic's on the River. YUM! I love this photo. I was trying to allow only the light of the candle to show my face. I had to play with this a little. I think it's simply a "cool" photo.
We had a wonderful time..I still cannot believe it's been 10yrs...as my dh said, "It feels like the first!" The perfect sentiment. 10 yrs and very happy!
