Technique Tuesday #31 - Double Page Layouts!

Welcome to week 31 of 52 Weeks of Technique, Tool and Supply Challenges!  Each Tuesday throughout 2010, I will share a fun technique, tool or supply with you to encourage you to get busy, use your stash, try something new and be creative!

This week we explore creating Double Page Layouts!

I decided to keep it simple this week, since creating a double page layout is a challenge in itself for me.  I starting scrapping as a two page girl and switched to single and have been doing single pages for years now. It is a vary rare occasion for me to do 2 pages. 

Here is my take on the challenge:  Picture Perfect Birthday!  My dh and I on his birthday @ Stoney River Steakhouse.  YUM!

Technique Tuesday #30 - Patterned Paper Panache!

This week we explore creating Patterned Paper Panache!

I LOVE patterned paper. I mean I really LOVE patterned paper and I LOVE using it especially multiple patterns on a page.  It's fun and you can create so many wonderful looks, accents and so much more...all you need is the right patterns.  

Here is my take on the challenge:  4th of July.  Another layout of dh, Angie and myself during our 4th of July weekend getaway to St. Simon's Island.  This was such a joyful weekend!  I used 5 patterns on this page!  Yay!

Technique Tuesday #29 - Vertical Photos!

Welcome to week 29 of 52 Weeks of Technique, Tool and Supply Challenges!  Each Tuesday throughout 2010, I will share a fun technique, tool or supply with you to encourage you to get busy, use your stash, try something new and be creative!

This week we explore creating Vertical Photos!

If you are like me then you have way too many landscape photos.  Sometimes, I have to force myself to take vertical photos.  However, vertical photos are often exactly what the photo opportunity needs, as well as your pages.  So my challenge to you is to change it up and make sure you are taking ample vertical and landscape photos and mix 'em up on your pages.

Here is my take on the challenge:  St. Simon's Lighthouse.   Dh, myself and Angie during our visit to St. Simon's Island.  We walked to the top of the lighthouse on a very HOT summer day!  The views from the top were fantastic.  This was the perfect opportunity for me to take some vertical photos and add them to a page!

Technique Tuesday #28 - Mix and Match Titles!

Welcome to week 28 of 52 Weeks of Technique, Tool and Supply Challenges!  Each Tuesday throughout 2010, I will share a fun technique, tool or supply with you to encourage you to get busy, use your stash, try something new and be creative!

This week we explore creating Mix and Match Titles!

Sometimes using the same BIG Letters is just too much or too overwhelming for a layout.  In fact to me it gets a bit boring when your title just includes the same fonts, same letters and no variety.  With so many products on the market titles don't have to be boring and can be very jazzy!  All you need to do is mix it up!

Here is my take on the challenge:  Do Not Enter.   Dh, myself and Angie during a visit to Angie's on St. Simon's Island.  We went to Dressler's for breakfast and I thought this sign on the door was hilarious.  Basically, it says Do Not Enter if you see others waiting...we'll be out to serve you when ready.  LOL!  You've got to read it for yourself. 

For this title not only did I use various fonts but various media...stickers, rub ons and Thickers.

Technique Tuesday #27 - Metal Mania!

This week we explore creating with METALS!

OK...so I don't know about you but when I first starting scrapping I was completely taken by metal embellishments. I bought brads, eyelets, clips, charms, letters...anything metal!  LOL!  Well I amassed quite a collection and need to make use of it.  So this week, I challenge you to use metal on your layout!

Here is my take on the challenge:  Music at the Park. Dh at Centennial Park during the National Black Arts Fest.  We were listening to a band in the park.  Notice not only brads but the metal suspender hooks, buttons and letters.

Technique Tuesday #26 - Memorabilia!

This week we explore creating with MEMORABILIA!

I'm sure just like me, you have collected ticket stubs, brochures, postcards, stamps etc. from events and/or vacations.  What do you do with them?  There are many ways to incorporate them into your scrapbook pages.  You can place them in page pockets, make them a background element, cut photos from them to embellish your page or even simply just add tickets as a fun accent!

Here is my take on the challenge:  Backyard Touring. On a visit home to Chicago, our friends Rick and Michelle took us out to lunch and on an architectural tour.  It was great to be a tourist in our hometown and now it is something we look forward to on each visit.  On my layout, I used the souvenir photo and added the tickets, as a great accent.

Technique Tuesday #25 - Hidden Journaling!

This week we explore creating HIDDEN JOURNALING!

Sometimes what we write may be a bit personal or perhaps you've used up all your creative space or maybe you just want to get creative with your journaling options, whichever you choose hidden journaling might be the perfect finishing touch for your next layout.

Here is my take on the challenge:  Messed Up. Or shall I say, easily influenced.  Gwendolyn's husband said we (scrapper wives) take too many photos and the husbands should make an effort to mess up the pictures.  Well, our dh's (Moanica and I) didn't need much convincing to start cutting up...to mess up the photos!  LOL!  See the tab at top, it pulls out to reveal the story!  And no...they are not drunk!  There was no drinking involved! Wow!

Technique Tuesday #24 - Decorative Edges!

This week we explore creating DECORATIVE EDGES!

Don't you just love the fun, funky edges many people use when creating their layouts.  I sure do.  And there are tons of edge punches that will give you just the look you desire.

Here is my take on the challenge:  Seaing 40.  My birthday at Sea!  Notice the bottom edge of the striped paper. I punched this and inked to make it stand out.  This was my first attempt at using a decorative edge punch!  LOVE IT.  I think I'll need to try this more often.

At a loss for title ideas?  Well look no further than your iPod playlist or a friend's list!  Song titles make great page titles.  Never mind the lyrics...if the title or even the lyrics suit your layout...use 'em!

Here is my take on the challenge:  Bella Donna (Stevie Nicks) found in a friend's playlist.  In spanish this means Pretty Lady/Woman...perfect for my layout and unique!  Yay!
