Buy the Book! Ethnic Scrapbooking!

I'd like to say, "CONGRATULATIONS,"  to my friend Lisa Sanford for the release of her new book, "Ethnic Scrapbooking."  This book celebrates cultural awareness and preservation.

We all have an ethnicity.  Whether American, Irish, Italian, Latin, German or Asian etc., this book celebrates multi-cultures and how we interact with them each day.  It also encourages simply celebrating, "YOU."   It can easily be used to inspire a "Book of Me."  "Here is a quote I found on another board from someone who recently purchased the book:

"I just finished reading your book! I really took my time and savored each page. I was quite impressed with the way you were able to incorporate the cultures of others as well as your own into your layouts....I am now inspired to incorporate more of my heritage in my every day layouts. Congratulations for a job well done!" Staci.  Well said!

Check out the book and get your copy today!

Simply Southern Scrapbook Convention

Finally a quiet moment to get some posting done!  (Sigh of relief!).  Dh and I attended the Simply Southern Scrapbook Convention October 5,6,7 as exhibitors.   He was kind enough to be the cashier for the entire convention and during the Saturday evening crop!  He even held it down while I taught several classes.  How cool is that!

We had a good time and were able to meet many wonderful scrappers from around the country.  It's always nice to meet others who share your passion.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites which was connected to the convention center.  What a beautiful hotel!  Loved it!

Here is our little convention set up:

One of the coolest parts of my experience was during the crop.   I was busy getting additional kits out for sale and doing some tidying up (after a rush of customers).  Well, a lady came up to do our make n take.  I was trying to hurry so I could go and assist her, when I looked up and dh had already begun to give her instructions!  What?  He's heard me explain it enough times that he could do it himself and was not afraid or ashamed to lend a hand!  Gotta love him!  Here he is:

It was a good time, especially with someone so helpful by my side!

Hopefully, we'll see you at a convention in the future!

Sistah Retreat 3!!!

Sistah Retreat 3 was held at the end of September 2007 in Temple, GA and what great fun it was.  We all began to arrive at around 1pm on Friday and the antics began!  The party really got revved up at about 8pm when we put on the Soul Classics Party CD!  There was plenty of scrappin', heads bobbin' and plenty of singing and fingers snapping.  It was simply a pleasure!

Check out my Sistah Scrappers who were in attendance:

Not only was there plenty of scrappin', goodie bags...but prizes too!  Here are a couple of winners at the retreat Cathy, Arneshia and Angie:

What retreat would be complete without a trip to Archivers!  LOL!  The Sistahs packed it up and headed to Archivers to shop til they dropped!

It was such a fun weekend!  I even managed to complete 11 pages and 8 cards.  A personal best!

Parting on Sunday was such sweet sorrow..can't wait until Sistah Retreat 2008!
