CKU-A Was a BLAST!

Well, I'm back and I must say, I had a blast!  From the prod demos leading up to having a completed 6x6 mini album, to the graduation commencement...everything was great!  I truly enjoyed myself and got to rub shoulders with all the "scrapbook celebrities.!"  They were all very nice and quite down to earth.

I did the Story of Us album track with Rusty Pickle!  It was FANTASTIC!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the album I created and will share pictures later this week.  All of my classes were wonderful.  Learned some fun new tips and techniques that I am sure to use over and over again. 

Got some fun goodies too!  Chatterbox Rubons, Justwrite Stamps, Distress Ink Pads, 6x6 and 8x8 album, Making Memories Jewel Brads, Gin-X Rubons, just to name a few.

It was truly and exciting, yet tiring weekend.  I had fun meeting scrappers from all around the world and simply being able to be amongst women/men who understand and share my love for scrapbooking!  I surely, look forward to doing it again.

I'm off to CKU-A!!!

CKU-A is here in Atlanta this week and I'm off to enjoy all the learning, fun and festivities!

I am so excited!!! This will be my first CKU event and I just can't wait.  Actually, it'll be my very first "full" scrapbook convention as a student!  I'm sure I will have plenty to share when I return.  Now I better go finish packing those bags. LOL!

If you will be attending and you see me, be sure to stop me and say, "Hi."

A Little Shug Avery Pea!

Let me preface this by saying, you've had to see the movie Color Purple to understand this post.

Here goes:  Picture it my mom(Grandma) and neice (Ayanna) sitting and having a tea party with a cute little child's tea set, on my mom's bed.

Grandma: "How nice a tea party. Would you like some sugar."

Ayanna: "Yes, please."  Giggle, giggle.

Grandma: "How about a little cream?"

Ayanna: "Ick, no."  LOL!  Knocks everything over because she is laughing and shaking the bed. (the cups are actually empty...their just pretending)

Grandma: Jokingly..."Well, what kind of tea party is this with the hostess knocking everything over? Hmmpph.  Well, I didn't spill my tea. Mmmm, this is good tea.  I mean it's really good."

Ayanna: "Yep, that's cause I put a little Shug Avery Pea in it!"  Falls out laughing!

Grandma:  Surprised and then cracking up....had to call me at 10:30pm eastern time...it's earlier where they are.

Auntie(Me): Screams with laughter!  Niece is laughing.  Grandma is laughing!

Well, they both love the movie and have probably seen it about 5 times recently.  I understand. It is such a wonderful story of growth and change, spirituality and perserverence....not to mention it has quite a few funny lines...which obviously my niece has picked up!  LOL!
