A Classy Card Idea!

I love making cards.  It's just much nicer than store bought cards.  Here is one of my cards created during a cardmaking afternoon!

American Idol???

Wow!  I have to admit I have not been a Carrie fan, but she did a wonderful job last night.  My prediction is that it will be Carrie and Bo in the finals.  However, I think Bo will take the prize!

Sketches

Feeling stumped with how to arrange your photos? Why not try using a sketch. A sketch is a layout drawing which shows you how to arrange the elements of your layout.  There are plenty of web sites with sketches. Including this one!  You can view a few of my sketches below, by clicking on scrapbook sketches located in the left hand column. I also provide sketches each month in my e:newsletter Scraps of Color.  You can sign up for it at http://www.classycoordinates.com Or why not try creating your own sketches, just pick up your favorite scrapbook magazine, mark pages that include layouts you like, draw a sketch of the layout. Be sure to create a file for the sketches or make them on your computer. When you are at a loss for how to arrange your photos pull out your sketches and much of the work is already done for you!  Good Luck.  Here is one to get started with!

American Idol Going Home?

Will it be Carrie, Bo, Vonzell or Anthony?  I admit, last season I said I wasn't going to watch....well that was an untruth!  LOL! 

I really didn't like any of the country performances except Carrie's and the R&B selections left a bit to be desired, as well.  So who will it be?

Rounded Corners

Rounded corners?  Who knew?  I have always disliked rounded corners in my scrapbooks, well at least until recently.  Until I saw a layout created by one of the Classy Coaches, Jill Utrup. (See My Favorite Memories by Jill Utrup in the Classy Coordinates Gallery).  I love this layout and it inspired me to give rounded corners another chance!  LOL! 

I like the results of this layout done for the Book of Me Challenge going on in the Classy Scrapper Group.  This layout is about home and what it means.  Home for me is serenity, love and comfort.  We dreamed of building our first home and we did...it's now a reality complete with comfort and love.

Hmmmm...I think I'll use rounded corners again soon.  The look is unique at least it is in my books!  Give it a try or at least give an old technique another shot.  You never know, you just might like the results.  I sure do!

A Bit of Heaven

This is one of my favorite places...my screened porch.  I am so excited that the Spring/Summer is here.  I spend time here having breakfast and dinner with my dh and I even sit out here to scrapbook.  It is so peaceful and relaxing.  I simply love it! 

Today, highs 80-85.  Sounds like a good day to sip, sweet tea and read a good book on the porch!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mom's out there, especially to my own wonderful mom.  She is simply the best, a great friend and mother. 

About a week and half ago my mom called me to tell me that she really liked two new fragrances...Be Delicious by Donna Karan and Tommy Hilfiger's True Star...you know the Beyonce' fragrance.  Uuuuummmmmm?  Are you serious?..was my thought. Well assuming this was a hint since Mother's Day was so close, I decided to head to Macy's to check out the fragrances.  Now, honestly Be Delicious...the name alone made me think...yuck!  LOL!  Beyonce's frangrance..I just simply thought....uuuuhhh no!  Surprisingly, I really liked True Star and the Be Delicious, I could live without.  So, of course I came home with a gift set of Tommy Hilfigers True Star for mom, wrapped it up and off to Fedex to mail it.  Well it hasn't arrived yet, although they promised two day delivery...so my mom won't have it on today. Darn!  Whatever happened to good service?  Hopefully, my brothers will do something nice for her. 

I hope you are celebrating with a relaxing morning and an enjoyable day with lots of tokens of love!  Below I've shared a layout I created for a Mother's Day past.  On this Mother's Day, I made my mom 3 handmade albums with pictures of myself, my brothers and my niece (the one and only grandchild), I cooked breakfast and we had a wonderful time together.

National Scrapbook Day!

It's National Scrapbook Day and I hope you all have some fun planned for the day.  I will be introducing Classy Coordinates to a group of scrappers today and hopefully I'll get a page or two done, as well.  If I do, I'll be sure to share a creation or two with you.

It'll be a fun event with make n takes, raffles, giveaways and more!  I'm excited and in a hurry.

Be sure to get out and have fun.  I'm sure the scrapbook stores in your area have fun events planned for the day.

Pretty in Pink

She is the subject of many of my pages...my niece Ayanna...age 6 going on 21!  LOL!  She is so full of energy and tons of questions.  She has the sweetest voice and I just can't seem to delete the messages she leaves on my voicemail...they make me smile, especially since we are so far apart.

This layout is one of my favorites.  It's one of the first that I mixed it up a bit, using buttons, stitching and metal pieces.  Now, I can't stop mixing it up!  A layout just isn't finished without a touch of metal and mixed media! LOL!
